Broken Roots for the Hope in Divine's Grace
I sought to embark on a new creative journey to portray the struggles one faces when endeavoring to discover their identity in this world, where dreams often remain unfulfilled. Each individual finds themselves gazing into the mirror, questioning whether they could have led a better life or become better versions of themselves.
This image is inspired by a 'self-portrait,' symbolizing a soul tethered to the world, yearning for liberation through the grace of God. The weight of the wings mirrors the burden of the mountains as they gradually descend. The tree before the figure represents the tree of knowledge, the sole source of sustenance for the present moment. Resting upon a mountain range, the figure contemplates the greater power yet to be attained in the distance. A king by birthright, destined to relinquish his kingdom one day in pursuit of closeness to the divine.
